Thank you for a fabulous time!
Dear Xaviera,
We just got back from our trip to the Netherlands and Amsterdam. We had a wonderful time in this beautiful country! The highlight of our was staying at the "Happy Sleeper" and the evening dinner and conversation with you and Philip.
The accommodations were superb! We loved the "Luxury Loft" on the second floor. This is an old, grand house, so the stairs were kind of steep going up to the loft, but once in the Loft, the beautiful sleek bathroom with its walk-in shower for 2 was especially romantic (like you had told us). We also loved the fully equipped kitchen and fridge (done up in your trademark red color?), which was useful for preparing small meals when we didn't want to go out. The view from the loft overlooking the garden was very peaceful, and the skylights not only gave us extra ventilation, but made the loft very bright and sunny. The huge queen sized bed was really comfortable and made us want to stay in bed rather than going out sightseeing.
In the morning, the cooked breakfasts were delicious and very well presented. From warm whole grain breads, eggs any style, ham, local preserves, juices and good coffee, it was always a great nutritious and filling way to start our day. Please thank the boys (Alki and ?) and especially Philip for doing a great job looking after us.
The "highlight within the highlight" of the trip was the delicious dinner we had on the second night at your house. Our compliments to Philip for being such a great chef!
The after-dinner conversation and stories you told were absolutely delightful – it was like having our own personal "One Woman Show" right there in your living room. Xaviera, you are a wonderful and an *** woman, and we're so glad to have met you and spent a little time with you. You are a true historical treasure – you have lived such a full, exciting and adventurous life, and it's all due to your intelligence and quick wit. We will never forget this trip!
We have posted on Facebook the pictures we took right before our departure from your house. I will tag you on the pictures so you will see them. I also wrote a glowing review for you on TripAdvisor.
By the way, James also wanted to wish you a belated "Happy Birthday" since you and him share the same birthday (we call them "birthday twins". We saw the pictures you posted on Facebook of your party, and it looked absolutely fabulous! Wish we could have been there -- maybe some birthday in the future we can celebrate it together with you.
If you and Philip are ever in Orlando in the future, please let us know so we can meet up for dinner and maybe take you to one of the Disney World parks. It would be our pleasure.
Until we meet again,
Lots of love,
Nildo & James (and Paul).

Ms
I would like to say, you have been an inspiration to me. ! I met you when I was 17 years old in Etobicoke, Ontario Canada, I worked in an office called bookazine.
You came to the office, and introduced yourself to me, and said I had the most beautiful eyes of blue,we chatted and you made me laugh, along with my friend who also worked there. When you left you said to me something that has always stayed with me..and it was "don't ever let anyone take the beauty out of your eyes" . Just those few words and your visit has made me someone who learned to love myself, and give the gift of kindness to others.. I thank you.! all these years have passed, but wanted to let you know that you made a difference in my life and I thank you! Catherine Beattie (Haney)

Dear Ms. Hollander,
I fondly remember cutting class and sneaking off into the woods where I sat and read your memoir.
Having just completed the 8th grade in a strict Catholic school you helped me to understand that *** was more than OK ... and that it can be a wonderful adventure.
WOW XAVIERA HOLLANDER
